Favorite Sloppy Joe Sandwich

Favorite Sloppy Joe Sandwich recipe is basic. It’s what we had every Saturday night to eat. Maybe that isn’t true but I do seem to remember eating them a lot on the weekends 🙂 Recently my mom seemed a little shocked by the ingredients list on her favorite brand of sloppy joe mix. Which gave me the bright idea to come up with a recipe that is just basic ingredients without all the other unnecessary additions. It is so good that I made another batch and put it in the freezer for later.

Tips for making our Favorite Sloppy Joe Sandwich

This is pretty much the easiest recipe to make ever! I would recommend using a high quality beef with less fat. Which means less grease to drain off etc. If using the really lean beef I add a little olive oil into the skillet when browning.

Ground turkey works great for this recipe! When using turkey I usually add ground sage to the spice mix. 1 teaspoon works great. And again, use olive oil when browning 🌞.

Spices can be added according to taste preference. I sometimes add a lot more chili powder. And sometimes garlic powder in addition to the minced garlic 😄. We have been known to add a tablespoon of A.1 Sauce instead of the worc. sauce. What are recipes even for anyway? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The frozen onion & bell pepper mix that most grocery stores carry works just fine for this recipe! Just add into the meat according to the recipe directions.
