Orange Chocolate Cookies

These Orange Chocolate cookies are crispy, crunchy like crackers with a little sweetness from the orange icing dollop on top. And the best part is the dark chocolate that is drizzled over everything! A great addition to that giant cup of tea or coffee:)

Orange Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter , melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • ICING
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • DRIZZLE
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two baking pans with parchment paper.
  • In mixer bowl mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg and milk.
  • Stir together flour and cocoa.
  • Mix in until incorporated.
  • Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface until 1/4 inch thick.
  • Use round cookie cutter and cut out as many as possible.
  • Roll out scraps and repeat.
  • Place cookies onto prepared baking pans and cook for 10 minutes.
  • For icing mix sugar and orange juice, icing should be very thick.
  • Drop by teaspoonful onto top of cookie.
  • Allow the icing to set up for about 10 minutes.
  • Melt dark chocolate chips in microwave in 30 second increments until melted.
  • Stir well and pour chocolate into the corner of a ziplock bag.
  • Snip the corner and drizzle chocolate over cookies.
  • Allow to cool completely.
