Ingredients
2lb.hamburger
2conion, green pepper, celery mixchopped
1tbspgarlic, minced
115 oz.tomato sauce
16 oz.tomato paste
1/3 cuplight brown sugar
1/4cupred wine vinegar
2tbspworcestershire sauce
2tsppaprika
1tspchili powder
1/2tspsalt(to taste)
1/2tspblack pepper
1cupbeef broth
Instructions
In a large skillet brown hamburger and onion, pepper, celery mix. Cook until hamburger is no longer pink. Drain if needed.
Return hamburger mixture to skillet and add garlic and cook for about 1 min.
Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on med/low heat until reduced down. This may take 25-30 mins. depending on the amount of liquid.**If the sloppy joe mix is too thin after cooking for 30 mins. then mix 1-2 tbsp. of cornstarch with 3 tbsp. of water and stir. Cook for about 5 mins longer.
Serve on toasted hamburger buns. Topping options are mayo, mustard, dill pickles, slaw, & cheddar cheese.
