Mulled Apple Cider Sangria

· In: Drinks

A candid drink shot

Mulled Apple Cider Sangria looks like Christmas but is delicious anytime during the holidays! This apple cider is mulled with spices, oranges, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks which is typical but I decided to let it cool and make an iced adult beverage. You could just drink it hot or you could do what I did-whatever makes you happy 😊.

How I Made Mulled Apple Cider Sangria

  1. Cranberries may not normally be used in hot apple cider because they do burst during cooking. So I had to strain everything out-actually I strained it 3 times just to make sure all of the settlement was out. That only took a couple of minutes! The cranberries make the color so festive and add flavor. Ginger beer is added just before serving and it really complements the cranberry flavor.
  2. After straining I let the cider cool completely and then added all the fresh fruit-the apples do not turn once they are into the juice mixture! All of this can sit overnight in the refrigerator and then add the ginger beer and wine just before serving.
  3. Sangria is traditionally made with red wine but I wanted to use white wine because I’m pretty sure it pairs better with apple cider! A crisp pinot grigio is perfect for this recipe.

Garnishes are completely optional but they make the drink so festive 😊.
