Ingredients
Chai Syrup Ingredients
2cupswater
2cupsgranulated sugar
5wholepeppercorns
4wholecloves
2cinnamon sticks
2inchpiece of fresh ginger, peeled
1tspvanilla extract or paste
1/4tspnutmeg
1/2tspallspice
4black tea bags
Latte Recipe
1-2shotsespresso
3-4tbspchai tea syrup, to taste
1/2cupmilk, as needed to fill cup
Ice
1sprinkle of cinnamon on top
Instructions
Chai Syrup Instructions:
Add all syrup ingredients into a small saucepan and simmer on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes. It will reduce and have a slight syrup consistency.
Remove from the heat and let cool. Store in a closed jar for about 2 weeks.
Latte Instructions:
Brew the espresso and add the chai tea syrup.
Pour into a small glass and fill with ice as desired. Fill the cup with milk and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.Stir and enjoy!
Notes
The cold brew version of this recipe is:Fill a glass with ice and then fill with the coffee and 3-4 tbsp. of the chai tea syrup as needed for taste.
